Butterfly Breeze...

The wonderful thing about holiday times for me is having so much more time to play along with all the great challenges out there - this time I combined the Play Date colour palette of black & white with a splash of teal, together with this week's Case Study challenge (what a gorgeous card by Amy Sheffer!). Here's what I came up with:

It's not exactly rocket science to see how I was inspired by Amy's card... lol! I loved the black and white butterfly, the stamped detailed background, the panel of pale blue at the bottom of the card, the punched border and the black card base. I die-cut the butterfly then stamped an image from one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets (coming on Jan 24th) over the top with Stazon ink. The Baja Breeze panel was stamped with a new vine border image from a new set coming in the mini catalogue. The border along the bottom of the card was created with the Curly Label punch, moving it along a few times to get this effect. I added some rhinestones to the body of the butterfly and a couple of black buttons under the sentiment (these were inspired by the black pearls on Amy's card).

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Delicate Doilies, Happiest Birthday Wishes (hostess), Fresh Vintage (SAB), Borderlines (Mini catty)
Paper: Black, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Stazon, Baja Breeze, Tea Stain (distressing kit)
Dies: Beautiful Butterflies, Perfect Pennants
Accessories: basics rhinestones, black buttons, black satin ribbon, curly label punch

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by!
