I was playing around yesterday with a number of challenges and ended up combining three for this card - the Friday Mashup challenge (to use their sketch plus the ghosting technique), the Colour Q colours and the Case Study challenge. Here's the inspiration line up...
I pulled out a new set from the Summer mini catty called Up, Up and Away and decide to make a man's card...
I took inspiration from Laurie's card with the black card base with rounded corners, plus the woodgrain panel and the pop of colour against the neutral background. I made the woodgrain panel using the following steps:
- Stamp the Woodgrain background stamp on glossy white cardstock using Versamark ink
- Leave to dry
- Drag the Charcoal inkpad from SU's distressing kit from top to bottom, ovelapping each streak slightly
- Rub off excess ink with some kitchen towel to reveal the woodgrain pattern underneath.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Up, Up and Away, Woodgrain, For the Family
Ink: Versamark, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, Charcoal, Stazon
Paper: Glossy White, Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Grey
Tools: Modern label punch, word window punch, Two Tags die
Accessories: glimmer brads, linen thread, baker's twine
Thanks for stopping by!
