Deconstructed Party Flower...

Hiya!

I'm super late posting my ColourQ card today - my day has been non-stop until now and I haven't had the chance to sit down and put my post together. Anyways, here are this week's fab colours...

When I saw the peach, aqua and light green it reminded me of some old Sale-a-Bration dsp (which I do believe is my favourite SU paper ever!) so I went digging through my stash to see if I had some left and indeed I did! At first I wasn't sure how to add the Wisteria Wonder as it seemed to not go with the papers, but when I tried it I was pretty pleased with the overall result...

I used some retired paper flowers that came in a kit (can't remember which one!) to make the bloom, then added a wisteria button in the centre. I used this week's Deconstructed Sketch for my layout...

Make sure you stop by the rest of the Royal Court to see their beautiful creations this week!

Masculine Mojo Thank You...

Hiya!

Just popping in to share a card I made this afternoon - I've been asked for some more masculine cards for our church bookshop and even though I have been trying to make more, I don't have enough! So I needed a few challenges to help me on my way... I combined this week's Mojo Monday sketch with the theme challenge from Just Add Ink for this one...

I pulled out some retired paper from a few years ago that is perfect for masculine cards. I made a few others with the same paper (I'll be back on another day this week to share another one) which was easy to do once I had all the materials out and ready to go.

Here's the sketch I used:

Color Throwdown Guest Star!

Hello!

I was fortunate enough to be the Featured Stamper over at the Color Throwdown last week so this week I get to play along as the Guest Star Stamper! This week's colour combo is so pretty...

I'm making some cards for our up-coming ladies conference at church called 'Dream' so I'm looking for opportunities to use some of my fab Verve stamps that have great 'dream' themed sentiments. I used last week's Viva la Verve sketch and some Kaisercraft papers to come up with this...

The butterflies were stamped with Memento ink and coloured with Old Olive blendabilities, then cut out and popped up with dimensional glue. The papers are from Kaisercraft's Lush collection (my first Kaisercraft paper pad - the one I was given at CHA back in 2010!) and I added some Kaisercraft pearls to finish.

Here's the Viva la Verve sketch I used...

I'm sure the Color Throwdown DT will have some stunning cards to share with you today - be sure to check them out!

Hello Sunshine!

Hi there!

It's time for another great ColourQ challenge and this week's colours are rather regal...

I was wondering what to do with these colours until I saw the CAS(E) this Sketch layout this week and I had an idea to use Kinda Eclectic... and ended up with this...

Here's the sketch I followed (I flipped it upside down)...

I used the new Crazy about You stamp set and dies, together with some Gorgeous Grunge splatters and a scrap of retired Raspberry Ripple and the Beautiful Wings embosslit die.

Make sure you check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the design team this week!

A masculine set of cards...

Hello!

I played along with another Papertrey release challenge yesterday - to make a project with just neutrals and metallics... I chose some Kaisercraft papers that included silver foil and decided to make some scripture cards (using the Cheerful Heart set I got for Christmas) suitable for guys...

I used one of PTI's tag dies for three of them, with their Mat Stack 4 for the other. I used some silver embellishments and neutrals ribbon to finish each of them off.

Musical congratulations...

Hiya!

I'm popping in to share a couple of cards I put together this afternoon for two of my young piano students who are taking their exams soon. I decided to play along with Papertrey's challenge to use a stamp in your collection that hadn't seen ink, and I'm ashamed to say that this piano stamp has been sitting in my stash of ages unused! So this was the perfect opportunity to get it inky...

The images all come from PTI's Rhythm & Soul stamp set and I used a PTI impression plate to create background texture.

PTI Butterfly Encouragement

Hiya!

I've been following along with the Papertrey 8th birthday festivities over at Nicole's blog and decided to try and play along with a few challenges if possible this week. The first one I decided on was the combination of sketch and colour combinations (gotta love those!) - I chose these two...

I of course wanted to use butterflies, and combined them with a beautiful sentiment from the Cheerful Heart set I received for Christmas...

This one was made with a specific person in mind that needs some encouragement at the moment - hopefully it will brighten her day! I used some other PTI goodies on this one (as well as the stamps): ribbon, buttons, an impression plate and filigree border die.

A Valentine for Hubby...

Hello!

It's time for another fab ColourQ challenge and I love this week's combo...

Love the newsprint with black and red! I needed to make a Valentine's card for my sweet husband and so I thought this combination would work well. I pulled out a Taylored Expressions single stamp I bought when I was in the US back in 2010 that is perfect for my hubby who loves dogs (well any animals really!)...

I was so pleased with how this one turned out! Let's hope he likes it... After all he does see rather a lot of my cards so for him to be impressed it has to be top notch! I used this week's Deconstructed Sketch for my layout...

Make sure you stop by the rest of the ColourQ design team to be inspired by their fab creations this week!

A Shabby Mojo Dream...

Hi there!

I took some time last night to play along with a couple of challenges that caught my eye this week: the Mojo Monday sketch and the Card Concept inspiration...

I pulled out a shabby handmade flower that I'd made ages ago out of Blushing Bride card and used that as my starting point and ended up with this...

Seeing as the flower had a shabby feel to it I went for a shabby chic style for this whole card, distressing quite a few edges. The sentiment is from Verve's Words of Wisdom set - I stamped it on Naturals Ivory card with Smoky Slate ink. I added a couple of rhinestones for a bit of bling to finish.

Birthday Balloon

Hiya!

I'm just popping in with a card I made using some new goodies - the Celebrate Today stamp set and coordinating balloon framelits...

I combined a couple of challenges to help me on this one: the Freshly Made Sketch and the Colour Throwdown...

I also used some new paper from the Spring/Summer catty called Adventure Bound for the lower grass panel. The sky was stamped with Gorgeous Grunge and the clouds punched with the cupcake builder punch.

Let your dreams take flight...

Hello!

I finished my latest lecturing season today and am determined to a) get myself and my house organised, and b) create a little more! That is of course before I launch into the next season of study (hopefully a Masters)... Well I have managed to find time to make my ColourQ card this week. When I saw this week's colours I knew I had to use some Kaisercraft paper that I've had in my stash for a while that is just perfect for this combination...

I kept my design pretty simple, letting the beautiful paper shine through...

I just added a greeting (from PTI's Butterfly Dreams) as well as a die-cut butterfly (I picked up some gorgeous sizzix butterfly dies whilst on holiday last year and they are are quite similar to the ones that Stampin Up have in the Spring/Summer catty, only mine are smaller). I added a couple of candy dots as my touch of Real Red and that was that!

Make sure you check out the beautiful creations from the rest of the Royal Court this week!
