Chalkboard Hooray...

Hiya!

Happy New Year to you all! After a short break the ColourQ is back for 2015 with a lovely new colour combo...

I had some flowers I had coloured with Rich Razzleberry blendabilities and wanted to use them for this challenge. I also had spotted the Fusion challenge this week and that inspired me as well. Here's what I ended up with...

Here's the Fusion inspiration and sketch that I worked with...

I created my own background paper using a new stamp set available in SU's Spring/Summer catalogue which my lovely team members Jess and Claire kindly gave to me just before Christmas (this is my first chance to play with it!).

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Painted Petals, Hip Hip Hooray kit
Ink: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Memento black, Versamark, White craft ink, Crumb Cake
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Naturals Ivory, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: pearls, Very Vanilla seam binding, white embossing powder
Tools: Labels framelits

Silver Starry Feathers...

Hiya!

It's time to play along with a new ColourQ challenge...

I got a bit carried away on this one, going for a girly and glam look (perfect for the silver & pink combo)... I combined feathers and stars to come up with this...

I took part of my inspiration from the current Tag You're It! challenge...

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Four Feathers, Hey You, Everything Eleanor
Ink: Blushing Bride, Stazon, Versamark
Paper: Abloom dsp, Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver foil
Accessories: Silver ribbon, silver mini peg
Tools: Confetti Stars punch, Scallop tag topper punch, piercing template, feathers framelits

I also want to give a shout out to Melissa and Nicole from Create with Connie & Mary, who have blog candy up for grabs today to celebrate Preview Week for the Holiday Collection - make sure you check it out!

Lovely Pink Orchids...

Hiya!

It's time for another ColourQ challenge and this week there is a very pretty combo for us to play with...

Seeing as today marks the beginning of both the Sale-a-Bration promotion and the FAB Spring/Summer catalogue, I have combined things from both for my card...

I used the Happy Watercolour set from the Spring/Summer catty for the beautiful orchids, stamping them on Whisper White core'dinations card with stazon and colouring with Primrose Petals and Pink Pirouette inks and a blender pen. The sentiment is from my favourite SAB set called You're Lovely, stamped once on Primrose Petals card and die-cut with the matching deco labels framelit, then again on Whisper White and punched with the 1 3/4" circle punch. The background is Crumb Cake card, stamped with the border stamp from You're Lovely with Crumb Cake ink, then overlaid with the swirl stamp from Everything Eleanor with white ink. I added a couple of butterflies and some candy dots to finish.

I used this week's sketch from Create with Connie & Mary (rotated) for my layout...

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: You're Lovely, Happy Watercolour, Everything Eleanor, Papillon Potpourri
Ink: Crumb Cake, Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Stazon
Paper: Crumb Cake, Primrose Petals, Whisper White, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Subtles candy dots
Tools: Ovals framelits, Deco Labels framelits, 1 3/4" circle punch, Bitty Butterfly punch, Pennant framelits

Soft Pumpkin Thanks

Hiya!

This week's colours at ColourQ are so soft and pretty...

I pulled out an old favourite - Everything Eleanor - for this one...

I also used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch for my layout...

The focal point was created by stamping the label with Soft Sky on Whisper White then cutting out with my paper snips. I die-cut a little doily and then stamped the sentiment from Petite Pairs on white, punched out and layered over the doily. The flowers were stamped with Pumpkin Pie on white and cut out with my paper snips. I stamped the Crumb Cake panel with the swirl in Whisper White ink, and added some ribbon and candy dots to finish.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Everything Eleanor, Petite Pairs
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Soft Sky, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Paper: Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Subtles candy dots, Summer Starfruit ribbon
Tools: 1 1/4" circle punch, Delicate Doilies sizzlit

ColourQ Coffee

Hiya!

It's time for another ColourQ challenge - check out this week's pretty combo...

I just added the fun Perfect Blend stamp set to my collection and I thought this combo would be a great chance to get it inky...

Why is it that a relatively simply idea in my head turns more and more complicated when I make it lol?! The top coffee cup was embossed on So Saffron & Whisper White card as well as some Sweater Weather dsp with Early Espresso EP, then cut out and paper pieced (I also stamped the greeting on the So Saffron piece). The cup behind was done in the same way but instead of embossing, I just stamped it with Early Espresso ink. The dsp behind is more Sweater Weather, cut into a banner shape and stamped with the swirl from Everything Eleanor using Early Espresso ink. The piece behind is some Cajun Craze core'dinations card, embossed with the Mosaic embossing folder and sanded lightly. I added some lace tape, Early Espresso ribbon, So Saffron candy dots and some punched chevrons to finish.

The sketch is from this week's Friday Mashup (I thought I'd play along to let them know I haven't forgotten about them lol!)...

Elegant Eleanor...

Hi there,

I made a quick card this afternoon for a couple of challenges - when I saw the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge and the PPA colour challenge I saw them working together really well...

I used the Everything Eleanor set and kept it pretty simple (well as simple as I get!)...

I stamped the label image with Midnight Muse on Very Vanilla then embossed over the top with one of the designer frames folders. I stamped a couple of flowers with Cherry Cobbler and cut out with my paper snips. The sentiment is from the new hostess set Amazing You, stamped on Naturals Ivory with Midnight Muse. I stamped the swirl with Versamark and embossed with clear EP for a subtle background, then added a few pearls to finish.

That's all for now - hope you had a good weekend wherever you are!

Pretty Regal Grunge...

Hi there,

This week at Dynamic Duos we have a pretty monochromatic colour combo for you...

When I was thinking about this combo I really wanted to use grey as my neutral (pink and grey seem to go so well together!), and I wanted to use the Everything Eleanor set, so that's where I started from...

I went a bit grungy by spritzing two of the panels with Silver Smooch - love how this changes the look of these soft and pretty colours! The white panel was stamped with the frame in Basic Grey then I layered some flowerd over the top (stamped on Regal Rose in Basic Grey then I added some shading and details with a Regal Rose marker). I layered the white panel onto some Basic Grey, die-cut with the large scallop edgelit and pierced top and bottom. I couldn't resist adding a little strip of lace tape at the top. The dsp panel is from the patterns stack and stamped with the swirl using Pretty in Pink ink. The sentiment (from Create a Cupcake) was stamped with black craft ink and embosed with clear EP. I added some Regal Rose ribbon and some Basic Grey buttons with some rhinestones in the centre.

I used the sketch from Seize the Birthday for my layout on this one...
