Christmas in July!

This week the Friday Mashup is getting festive with a challenge from Lisa...

Here's your Mashup Challenge:

1. Create a project for "Christmas / Hanukkah".
2. Create a project with "Stripes".
3. Or Mash it Up and create a "Christmas / Hanukkah project with Stripes".

The stripes bit of this challenge had me thinking because I don't have a lot of the new dsp yet and none of the stuff I do have has stripes in it so I thought maybe I could use the stripes embossing folder, but I wasn't feeling it! I eventually found a piece of the Naturals Composition paper that has a stripe on it, looked up Baked Brown Sugar in the colour coach (which I think is closer to the NC paper than Crumb Cake), found a Christmas combo and was good to go!

I used the ornaments from Ornament Keepsakes, stamped with Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler, strung them together with linen thread and then layered a ticket greeting over the top. That panel was layered on Champagne glimmer paper then onto Garden Green card. The Cherry Cobbler panel in the background is core'dinations card that I embossed and sanded. I couldn't resist adding some of the lush new chevron ribbon in Pear Pizzazz!

Fan Fair projects...

Hello!

I thought I'd pop in and share the other card I made over the weekend, as well as something I made at our recent SU training day. For this card I used the Deconstructed Sketch this week...

I wanted to use the lovely Fan Fair paper for this one, and one of the printed elements from this pack (the globe)...

The fab paper does most of the work on this one - I just added a couple of tickets (from Just the Ticket), some die-cutting (Windows framelit around the globe and the large scalloped border) and a silver button with some linen thread. I added some faux stitching around the edge with my piercing tool and mat with a grey marker.

And here's a little notebook I altered with the same paper...

The only stamping on this one is the grey lace along the side - it's the Viola's Lace wheel stamped on vanilla, cut out and popped under the dsp.

Dynamic Duckie...

Hi there,

This week's colours at Dynamic Duos were lots of fun to play with (and ones I hadn't pulled out in a while!)...

I wanted to make a baby card as I have very few of them in my stash and never seem to have enough of them when needed, and I thought these colours would be cute for a 'boy baby' card so that's where I started...

I create a patchwork panel using the Patterns dsp stack, glued on Naturals White card, then ran the whole panel through th Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder. The duck image is from Embellished Events, inked with markers, then with an extra duckie stamped and popped over the top. I added some silver brads in the centre of the wheels for a bit of fun. I pierced around the edges of the circle and joined the dots with a Bashful Blue marker, then layered over a doily cut with the Delicate Doilies sizzlit die. I couldn't resist adding some ribbon (white organza) with a vintage faceted button in the centre, tied with some white bakers twine. This held the ticket sentiments (from Just the Ticket) in place (one stamped on white with Pumpkin Pie, the other on Bashful Blue with BB ink). I also added three mini silver brads in the bottom corner to finish things off. I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches for my layout...
