Golden Leaves...

Hiya!

It's time for another ColourQ challenge and this week's colours have lots of possibilities...

I used navy as my main colour as I wanted to play around with watercolouring some leaves from a new set called Vintage Leaves and I thought they would look most striking on a dark background...

The leaves were stamped on watercolour card and embossed with gold, then I coloured them with an aquapainter and inks (Apricot Appeal, Calypso Coral, Delightful Dijon) and finally cut them out with the coordinating dies. The background is Night of Navy card with a circle cut from the middle then sponged with NoN ink and embossed with a PTI impression plate.

I used the Sweet Sunday Sketch for my layout this week...

ColourQ Thanks...

Hiya!

It's time for another fun ColourQ challenge and here's the fun combo we're playing with this week...

I didn't have Cameo Coral so I used Calypso Coral, which is a bit more orangy than pinky, but I still liked how the combination worked out...

I used the Curtain Call inspiration and Viva la Verve sketch for this one too...

I used my fave Verve set again (so useful for giving cards to people in Bristol, seeing as we are famous for our balloon festival!).

Butterfly thank you...

Hello!

It's time for another ColourQ challenge and this week's combination is certainly an interesting one...

I can safely say that these four colours are not ones I would naturally have put together! But hey, that's why we have challenges - to stretch our creativity to do something beyond our 'usual' (whatever that may be!). After a bit of faffing, and digging through my scrap draws, I ended up with this...

A nice 'layery' sketch helped me out: the week's Viva la Verve challenge...

The stamps are from Verve, along with the matching butterfly die. I added some retired Rich Razzleberry brads as well as a wooden peg behind the tags for embellishments, and added a bit of faux stitching with a white Signo gel pen.

Set of Encouragement...

Hiya!

This week over at the ColourQ we have a fab new combination to play with...

My sister had asked me to send her three sets of boxed cards for a fundraising auction she is holding in Australia and I was under a tight deadline so I combined her request with this colour combination to create a set of encouragment cards...

I used the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch for the cards...

The sentiments are from a Papertrey set and I used a combination of retired SU cardstock along with PTI's Aqua Mist.

With Gratitude...

Hello!

Check out this week's fab colour combination over at the ColourQ...

I went for a masculine card as I thought these colours would be perfect... I dug out a couple of old pieces of dsp with a combination of these colours on them and came up with this...

I was rather pleased to find a piece of dsp that had Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Kraft included in the design! I used that to paper piece the balloon (from one of my fave Verve sets!), and pieced the basket using Crumb Cake cardstock. I used this week's Viva la Verve sketch for my layout...

Together for Tea...

Hiya!

This week at the ColourQ we have a lovely combination of colours with lots of possibilities...

Now with my love of butterflies, and butterflies being in the inspiration pic, you would think that there would be a butterfly somewhere on my card... but no! Instead I went for a vintage tea-party look...

One of my close friends loves a cup of tea (as do I!) and we often joke about needing a tea to alleviate our troubles during more stressful days! So this one is for her (and she loves all shades of blue). I used the first Viva la Verve sketch from this month for my layout, but rotated it to suit what I wanted to do...

Deconstructed Vases...

Hi there!

I've been preparing for an up-coming class this weekend and have been playing around with ideas for altering designer paper and decided to use a couple of challenges to help me put a card together with one of my altered pieces of dsp. I liked the colours from Create with Connie & Mary, and I wanted to play along with the last ever Deconstructed Sketch...

I pulled out some stamps I haven't used in a while - Vivid Vases and Something to Say...

I embossed some splatters from Gorgeous Grunge on the Smoky Slate background with silver EP and couldn't resist adding a chocolate chip bow using some old retired grosgrain ribbon (loved this stuff!).
