Hello!
I've got a craft fair coming up in a couple of weeks and need to make some journals (among other things!) to take with me, so I combined some challenges to help me get started: the Color Throwdown combo and the Deconstructed Sketch...
One of the things I love about Jen's sketches are all the layers, so my finished journal also works well for Just Add Ink's challenge this week: just add layers! Here's what I came up with...
I used Gumball Green instead of Old Olive because I wanted to use the Epic Day This & That papers, and I added Basic Grey as my neutral. The sentiment (from Feel Goods) was stamped on Basic Grey with Versamark ink and embossed with Pool Party embossing powder, then cut with a circle framelit. The scallop layer behind was die-cut with the large scallop edgelit. The butterfly was created using the Bigz butterfly die (Gumball Green card) and the Beautiful Wings embosslit (some Epic Day dsp), then fixed together with an antique brad. I used another antique brad along with a punched little banner, as well as a Daffodil Delight bow and a Gumball Green dahlia in the centre.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Feel Goods
Ink: Versamark
Paper: Epic Day dsp, Basic Grey, Gumball Green
Accessories: Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon, antique brads, in-colour dahlias, Pool Party EP
Tools: Circles framelits, Bigz butterfly die, Beautiful Wings embosslit die, banner punch

She believed she could...
Hiya!
I'm super excited today as it's my first post as part of the fabulous Colour Q design team - woohoo! What a wonderful group of talented ladies the Royal Court are! This week's colour palette is such a pretty one...
Lots of possibilities with this colour scheme, as you will see from the rest of the DT's samples. I went in a floral direction and pulled out the Blossoms bigz die and some Pacific Point core'dinations card and came up with this...
Gotta love that flower die - makes the most fantastic flowers! I popped an antique brad through the middle and added some leaves, cut with the Leaves sizzlit die (I added some details with the new White Stampin' Chalk Marker... coming in the Autumn/Winter catty at the end of the month!).
I was inspired by the Fusion inspiration and sketch for this one...
The background paper is from Quatrefancy but I altered it a bit by sponging Island Indigo ink around the edges to blend and soften a bit. The chalkboard greeting is Early Espresso card, stamped and embossed with the greeting from Feel Goods with white EP, then die-cut with a squares framelits die. Using a stamp-a-ma-jig I restamped the sentiment in white craft ink, slightly offset from the embossed greeting to create a shadow effect. To get the 'chalk dust' effect, I rubbed a little white craft ink over the panel.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Feel Goods
Ink: Versamark, Island Indigo, white craft
Paper: Quatrefancy dsp, Naturals White, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Pacific Point core'dinations card
Tools: Blossoms originals bigz die, squares framelit, woodgrain embossing folder, leaves sizzlit die
Accessories: antique brads,

Washi tape sunshine...
Hi there!
I had fun playing around with SU's new washi tape the other day (I didn't think I was going to be 'into' this product, but it's surprisingly addictive!!) and I used the colour challenge from Create with Connie and Mary to get me started...
Funnily enough, these colours are the exact colours of the washi tape (do you think they planned it that way...?!) so it was a good place to start. I had the idea of using the sunshine sentiment from Feels Good and creating a sun with the stamps from Daydream Medallions... It was going to be a simple card at first, but then I got a bit carried away...
I ended up adding dsp, rhinestones, ribbon... oh well, that's just how I roll I guess!
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Feels Good, Daydream Medallions
Ink: Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Quatrefoil Fancy dsp, Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Gingham Garden washi tape, rhinestones, Daffodil Delight seam binding ribbon
Thanks for stopping by!

Bringing you sunshine...
Hiya,
This week's challenge over at the Friday Mashup is a fun themed one...
Here's your Mashup Challenge:
This is actually pretty simple - once I'd done the background I just stamped the sentiment on Whisper White with Tangerine Tango ink and cut around it freehand to make a cloud. I sponged some turqouise ink around the edge and attached it to the card with dimensionals. The inside looks like this...
