Clear Block Grunge...

Hiya!

This week over at the Friday Mashup, Amanda's got us using our clear blocks in a different way (not just for holding stamps!)...

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using "Clear Block Stamping (use your clear block as a stamp)."
  2. Create a project using "Color-blocking."
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project using "Clear Block Stamping & Color-blocking."
Well I must confess that my card for this challenge is one I made a while ago at a training day that I've never posted here and fit the bill perfectly so I thought I'd go ahead and post it for this challenge...

I stamped the Whisper White panel with clear blocks in Basic Grey, Calypso Coral and Crumb Cake, then dragged the This & That Epic Day rotary stamp down the card and few times to get a grungy sort of look (Hayley demonstrated this at the training day - always fun to learn new tips and tricks eh?!). I added some washi tape, cut some hexagons from the Epic Day paper and added some faux stitching with a marker. The greeting is from Label Love, stamped with Basic Grey on Crumb Cake, cut out then layered on an Artisan Label punched shape from Basic Grey card. I figure this sort of card would be good for a boy - maybe even those scary teenage boys lol! I'm linking this up to the current Seize the Birthday challenge - can never have enough birthday cards eh?!

Make sure you check out the rest of the design team's creations this week!

Modern Coastal Wedding...

Hiya!

I wanted to play along with a couple of challenges in my free time this afternoon so I combined the always fabulous Mojo Monday sketch (congrats Julee and the team on your 300th challenge!) with the Dynamic Duos colour challenge...

I decided to use my favourite new colour, Coastal Cabana, as my choice in addition to Basic Grey (and a couple of other neutrals)...

I must say, I'm really pleased with how this one turned out (particularly considering how long it took me to make lol!). I used the Love and Laughter set for the cake, reverse masked it with post-it notes and sponged inside with Coastal Cabana ink. I added some bling using rhinestones as well as a little Simply Pressed clay flower that I made with dyed Coastal Cabana clay. The sentiment is from the new Label Love set, trimmed out with my paper snips then layered onto a Coastal Cabana artisan label punched shape. The circle element is a die-cut Basic Grey doily, layered over a Basic Grey circle. The designer paper is the new Modern Medley paper (so versatile in vanilla and black), and the Coastal Cabana panel was stamped with a flourish from Flowering Flourishes. The background piece is Smoky Slate card, and all the panels were layered on Basic Grey.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Label Love, Love and Laughter, Flowering Flourishes
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Basic Grey
Paper: Modern Medley dsp, Coastal Cabana, Basic Grey, Smoky Slate, Very Vanilla
Tools: Artisan label punch, delicate doilies sizzlit, circles #2 die, simply pressed flower mold
Accessories: Lace trim, rhinestones, simply pressed clay

Simple Field Flowers...

Hi there,

I made a quick CAS card the other day combining two challenges: the colours over at Paper Pal Arts, as well as the layout from this week's Case this Sketch...

I pulled out the pretty Field Flowers stamp set and came up with this...

Yes, there's some fussy cutting, but the rest is pretty simple! I used a new stamp set from the new SU catty coming in July called Label Love (one of my favourite sets from the new catty!), as well as the coordinating punch.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Field Flowers, Label Love, Summer Silhouettes
Ink: Gumball Green, Primrose Petals
Paper: Primrose Petals, Naturals White, Whisper White
Accessories: Gumball Green ribbon, pearls
Tools: Artisan Label punch

I hope you're having a great week... Thanks for stopping by!
