Hello!
I wanted to play with the Hexagon Hive thinlit die and found a pretty sketch at Cardabilities as well as a colour combo at Hand Stamped Sentiments to inspire me...
I wanted to stamp something on the Hexagon Give die-cut so I looked through my stamps for some possibilities and decided on some of the motifs from Hello Lovely...
I was really pleased with how this one turned out (even though I forgot to put the large banner from the sketch into my design!). I was actually pretty quick to put together because of the flowers and leaves having coordinating dies (love these!)... I added some pearls and a greeting and that was that!
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Secret Garden, Hello Lovely, Petite Pairs
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Gumball Green, Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Accessories: Pearls
Tools: Secret Garden framelits, Hexagon Hive thinlit die

Sponged Simple Garden...
Hiya!
I'm a bit late posting my ColourQ card tonight - busy day with work and a Stampin' Up party tonight (thanks for hosting Lyn!). Here are this week's colours...
So pretty!! Well I had to make substitutions for Peach Parfait and Apricot Appeal so I used Crisp Cantaloupe and So Saffron. I was inspired by the two-tone leaves on the box in the inspiration pic so I played around with creating a similar look on my card...
I achieved the shaded look by inking the stamp up with the lighter colour, then sponging the darker colour on the edges directly onto the stamp. The flower at the bottom (from Simple Stems) was inked with So Saffron the sponged with Crisp Cantaloupe and a touch of Pumpkin Pie.
I played along with the Friday Mashup challenge this week...
As well as using the sketch, the second part of the challenge was to use spritzing or splattering so I used Gorgeous Grunge to stamp the centre oval as well as the background paper with Gold Encore ink.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Secret Garden, Simple Stems, Happy Watercolour
Ink: Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Summer Starfruit, Always Artichoke, Gold Encore
Paper: Sweet Sorbet dsp, Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Naturals White
Accessories: pearls
Tools: Ovals framelits, Labels framelits, Secret Garden framelits, square lattice embossing folder
Make sure you check out the gorgeous creations from the rest of the Royal Court this week!

Lovely Summer Garden
This week at the ColourQ we have a pretty colour combo to play with...
I was inspired to play with some new goodies - one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets coming at the end of January that you can get for FREE, as well as the Hello Lovely set I received at Convention. I combined them with a favourite of mine - Secret Garden - and came up with this...
I'm loving how this one turned out! I started by stamping a background on the piece of Basic Grey using a couple of the motifs from Hello Lovely. I created a grid using my Simply Scored tool, then lined up the images with the grid and stamped repeatedly - one in Whisper White ink and the other in grey (you can't see much of that one in the card!). I then layered a piece of Summer Starfruit core'dinations card that I had embossed with the Woodgrain embossing folder and sanded, over the top, followed by a Cherry Cobbler textured card panel (both of these were layered on Whisper White to make them pop a little more). The sentiment is from the Sale-a-Bration set You're Lovely, embossed with black EP on Whisper White then die-cut with the smallest deco labels framelit and coloured in a little with markers.
The flowers were stamped on Watercolour card and embossed with white EP, then die-cut using the matching framelits (the outside flowers) and coloured using an aqua brush and ink pads. I used a combination of Tangerine Tango and Real Red to achieve the poppy colour, and used Cherry Cobbler instead of Bravo Burgundy. I stamped each flower a few times then fussy-cut the smaller layers to pop over the top to get a 3D look. The leaves are also from Secret Garden, stamped with Summer Starfruit onto Whisper White then die-cut.
I used this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch for the layout (I just rotated it... and added flowers!!):
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: You're Lovely, Hello Lovely, Secret Garden
Ink: Versamark, Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Tangeine Tango, Summer Starfruit, Smoky Slate, SU markers
Paper: Basic Grey, Cherry Cobbler Textured, Summer Starfruit core'dinations, Whisper White, watercolour
Accessories: White & black EP
Tools: Deco labels framelits, Secret Garden framelits, Simply Scored,
Make sure you check out the creations by the rest of the Royal Court this week - you're sure to be inspired!

These are a few of my favourite things...
Hiya!
Are you singing the song..? I do love the Sound of Music and the title of my post always makes me want to start singing lol! Anyways, this week on the Friday Mashup it's my turn to host, and I've come up with a tic-tac-toe challenge that features a few of my favourite things to include on creative projects...
Here's your Mashup Challenge:
I started by stamping the flower on watercolour card using versamark then embossing it with white EP. I then coloured it with an aquapainter and Calypso Coral ink, adding a vintage designer button in the centre with some linen thread and adding some die-cut leaves underneath. The dsp I've used is from the This & That Epic Day collection, from which I also die-cut a few butterflies using the Beautiful Wings embosslit die. I stamped the sentiment from Lovely Thoughts underneath with Basic Grey ink.
I used the layout from this week's Retro Sketches challenge to help me on this one...
Make sure you check out the stunning creations of the rest of the design team this week!

Blushing Coral Garden...
Hi there,
Well this week it's my last week on the Dynamic Duos design team so I'm a little sad! But it's been a great six months with an amazing group of talented ladies - I look forward to seeing the new team of designers and what they will inspire us with in the future. This week we have a very pretty colour combo for you...
We are also taking this week to say happy birthday to the lovely and uber talented Vicki, so here's my birthday card dedicated to her...
I combined the Secret Garden stamp set with the jar from Perfectly Preserved for the main panel - the flowers were embossed on vellum with white EP then each had a different treatment : the middle one was embossed from the back with a scoring tool on my piercing mat; the one on the right was sponged on the back with Calypso Coral ink; and the one on the left was highlighted with markers on the back. I then layered them over matching die-cut flowers out of Calypso Coral cardstock. The jar was stamped in Crumb Cake and the stems in Soft Suede, then I layered a birthday greeting (from Made for You) on top (stamped in Calypso Coral on Blushing Bride and punched out with an oval punch. The dsp in the background is from Twitterpated and Floral District and I added some Calypso Coral ruffled ribbon and some pearls to finish.
I used the layout from Freshly Made Sketches to help me...
Make sure you stop by the rest of the FABulous design team and see their gorgeous creations!

Rose Fusion...
Hiya,
I have another quick little post for you today. When I saw the gorgeous inspiration over at the Fusion Card Challenge I knew I had to play along...
I combined the sketch with the inspiration photo and came up with this...
The lower panel was stamped with a motif from Circle Circus with Black craft ink and embossed with clear EP, to imitate the bedspread pattern. I created a flower with the Fancy Flower punch and Rose Red card and a black button and added some leaves with the Secret Garden stamp set and Basic Grey ink.
Here's the recipe:
Stamps: A Word for You, Circle Circus, Secret Garden
Ink: Basic Black craft, Basic Grey
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Black, Naturals White, Rose Red
Accessories: Rose Red seam binding ribbon, black button, clear EP
Tools: Fancy Flower punch, secret garden framelits, delicate details embossing folder
