Starburst Film Birthday...

Hiya!

So I messed up a bit this week in that I prepared a card for next week's challenge thinking it was this week's and only realised on Sunday evening, by which time I had no time to photograph any new card with daylight - aargh! So I made something, photographed it as best as I could, but it's not brilliant unfortunately. Anyway, here are THIS week's ColourQ colours...

And here's my Monday evening last-minute attempt...

I don't do Halloween so I was trying to come up with alternative ways of using these colours and I thought these ones would be good for a child's birthday, so that's what I went with.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Everyday Occasions kit, Big News, Something to Say, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Rich Razzleberry, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Black chevron ribbon, Brights candy dots
Tools: On Film framelits

Mame sure you check out the fab creations from the rest of the design team this week!

Feathery Blessings...

Hello!

I was super excited this week when my box of pre-order goodies arrived from the Autumn/Winter catty! There was a bunch of stuff to play with but I decided to go with something autumnal before getting the Christmas stuff inky. So I combined the gorgeous Four Feathers stamp set and framelits with the Color Me Autumn dsp to come up with this...

I gotta say - I love how this one turned out! I used the Mojo Monday sketch this week for my layout...

I stamped the larger feather with Blackberry Bliss ink and the smaller one with Versamark, embossed with gold then coloured with Cajun Craze and an aquabrush. Both were die-cut with the matching framelits (available as a bundle - yay!).

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Four Feathers, Something to Say, Blessed by God
Ink: Blackberry Bliss, Cajun Craze, Versamark
Paper: Color Me Autumn dsp, Crumb Cake, Naturals Ivory, Very Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss
Accessories: Blackberry Bliss ribbon, Gold Basic metal buttons, linen thread
Tools: Project Life corner punch, Circle card thinlit collection, Feathers Framelits dies

Blended Framed Poppies...

Hello!

Check out the latest challenge from ColourQ...

I was hoping my new goodies would arrive in time to play with this week's fun combo but alas no - they arrived yesterday but I needed to have this project done by then so I used some of the preorder products as well as the lovely Pleasant Poppies background stamp..

I coloured the poppies using Blendabilities - the lightest Cherry Cobbler marker, with the lightest Daffodil Delight marker over the top to give a slightly more orange tone to the red. The sentiment is from Something to Say and the dsp in the background is from the Moonlight stack. I used the fab On Film framelits die to cut the poppies and the frame around them - love this die collection! Finally, the button is one of the Very Vintage designer buttons with a Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Something to Say, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Memento black, Island Indigo, Coastal Cabana, Blendabilities
Paper: Moonlight dsp, Island Indigo, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Accessories: Very Vintage designer button, Silver baker's twine
Tools: Bitty Banners die,  On Film framelits

Fresh Coastal Silhouette...

Hi there!

I had fun playing along with a couple of challenges the other day: the Freshly Made Sketch and the colour combo from Create with Connie & Mary...

I had a multi-coloured image stamped out from Gifts of Kindness that had been inked with Real Red, Coastal Cabana and Crumb Cake using the baby wipe inkpad technique at a training day a while ago so I decided to use that as my focal point...

I couldn't resist using a few new goodies from the new catty one this: the greeting from Something to Say, the Decorative Dots embossing folder (a returning item from Sale-a-Bration) and the fabulous Blendabilities,,, which I used to colour the rhinestones in the middle of the butteflies - love!

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Gifts of Kindness, Something to Say
Ink: Real Red, Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana Blendabilities
Paper: Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, Whisper White, vellum
Accessories: Real Red ribbon, rhinestones, Retro Fresh washi tape
Tools: Bitty Butterfly punch, Bitty Banners framelits, circle framelits, Decorative Dots EF

Change the World...

Hiya!

I'm preparing for an SU event next weekend where I'll be demonstrating how to create some altered notebooks/journals and I wanted to make a few samples to display... so I combined a couple of challenges to help me: the Mojo Monday sketch and the colour combo from PPA...

I know the sketch is tall & skinny but I kinda took it to an extreme with this one though...!

I wanted to make a notepad suitable for a guy so chose the combination of Traveller and World Map stamps, with sentiments from the new Something to Say. The star was embossed with Pool Party EP on Basic Grey card and cut out. I showed this one to my husband when I finished and asked him if it was suitable for a guy... he replied "yeah, if you lose the star and button"... I tried to explain that stars and silver buttons are great embellishments for guys but he wasn't convinced... lol!

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Traveller, World Map, Something to Say, Perfect Pennants
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Black, Basic Grey marker
Paper: Basic Grey, Pool Party, Lost Lagoon, Whisper White, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: silver button, Pool Party EP
Tools: circles framelits, circle punches

The Power of Two...

Hiya!

It's time for another ColourQ challenge and this week's combo is a pretty one...

I decided to make an anniversary card, creating a subtle background with a couple of new goodies...

The background was created by spritzing some Blushing Bride ink over the Hexagon Hive die, then I stamped some different heart images in the hexagons, from the Project Life Point & Click clear set and from Something to Say. The 'power of two' sentiment was embossed on Real Red card with white EP, the cut into a banner. I added some embossed hearts, a little arrow stamp from Point & Click, and some Real Red ribbon and Pool Party button as a little cluster.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Point & Click, Yippee Skippee, Something to Say, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Real Red, Blushing Bride, Versamark
Paper: Real Red, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Whisper White
Accessories: Real Red 1/8" ribbon, Pool Party button, White embossing powder
Tools: Hexagon Hive thinlit die, On Film framelits (arrow), Fashionable Hearts embosslits, honeycomb embossing folder

I used the sketch from Pals Paper Arts this week...

Summer Goodness...

Hiya!

This week's we've got a really versatile colour combination over at the ColourQ...

I wanted to play with a few of my pre-order goodies from the new catty (coming in just two weeks' time!) so I used Lost Lagoon (one of the new in colours) instead of Bordering Blue, along with a new sentiment set...

I used the lovely Summer Silhouette set, together with the new Something to Say sentiment set. I also snuck in an Old Olive blendability marker (for the shading on the leaves), some Lost Lagoon ribbon (which is LUSH!) and some new dsp.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Something to Say
Ink: Lost Lagoon, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Old Olive
Paper: Moonlight dsp, Rich Razzleberry, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Accessories: Crumb Cake button, Lost Lagoon stitched ribbon
Tools: 2 1/2" circle punch, banner framelit

I used the layout from Seize the Sketch for this one...

Make sure you check out all the wonderful inspiration from the rest of the design team this week!
