Poppy Pool Mothers Day...

Hiya,

I'm busy planning a class at the moment using the Easter Blossoms stamp set so to get me started I played along with this weke's Mojo sketch as well as the colour challenge from the Paper Players. Here's what I ended up with:

I stamped the silhouette image onto a circle cut from a piece of First Edition dsp with Soft Suede ink and lightly sponged around the edges. The papers are from the lovely Sale-a-Bration  set (can't get enough of these!). The sentiment is a mix of Teeny Tiny Wishes and For My Family. I added a few pearls to give the girl a necklace and a few larger ones in the top corner for a bit of extra elegance.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Easter Blossoms, Teeny Tiny Wishes, For my Family
Ink: Soft Suede, Pool Party, Poppy Parade
Paper: Everyday Enchantment dsp, First Edition dsp, Pool Party, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Circles #2 die, pearls, Victorian lace trim, Word Window punch, Perfect Pennants die, Top note die

Thanks for stopping by!

Colour Q Anniversary...

Hi there,

Sorry for my absence over the last week - I've had exams and been working on other stuff but it's now half term so pressure's off a little! I wanted to play along with this week's Colour Q challenge as well as another CPS anniversary sketch so I came up with this:

I got this hostess stamp set this week and decided to get it inky straight away. I stamped the flower twice for each bloom and then added shading with Poppy Parade ink and a blender pen. The centres were cut out and popped up for added dimension. I layered the flowers on a die-cut circle from the Perfect Pennants die and added some Peach Parfait swirls.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Array of Sunshine, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade
Paper: Poppy Parade, Regal Rose, Peach Parfait, Whisper White
Accessories: Rhinestones, word window punch, Perfect Pennants die, Scribbles & Swirls die, vintage wallpaper embossing folder

Vintage bird sketch...

Hiya,

I'm loving playing with the Sale-a-Bration papers at the moment - they are so pretty and I love the shabby distressed effect on the edges of them. When I saw the sketch over at the Paper Players this week I thought it would be perfect for one of the SAB stamp sets called Elementary Elegance...

I took out the 2-step bird punch that I haven't used in ages and punched the bird out with Calypso Coral and the wing in Poppy Parade then stamped both with a motif from Fresh Vintage. The frame behind the bird was stamped in versamark and clear embossed, then sponged with Crumb Cake ink to make the frame pop out a bit. The sentiment was stamped with Soft Suede and punched out with the decorative label punch and added a little bird (from Elementary Elegance) in Crumb Cake ink. I finished things off with a baja breeze bow, pearls and a touch of lace.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Elementary Elegance, Fresh Vintage
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Calypso Coral, Versamark
Paper: Everyday Enchantment dsp, Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Baja Breeze seam binding ribbon, pearls, clear EP, lace trim, decorative label punch, bird punch
