Vivid Retro Vases...

Hi there!

It's time for another fun ColourQ challenge and this week we've got a bright, cheerful colour combo...

I wanted to use a new stamp in my collection - Vivid Vases (a single stamp available in the Spring/Summer catalogue) - lots of fun to colour!

This is the second week in a row that I've seen the Retro Sketch layout and knew it would work with the ColourQ combo...

I stamped the image with Stazon on Naturals White card then coloured with a blender pen and inkpads then added a touch of Dazzling Details to the flowers. The sentiment is one of the stamps from the Hip, Hip Hooray kit. I added some faux stitching, candy dots and a butterfly to finish.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Vivid Vases, Hip Hip Hooray kit
Ink: Stazon, Tangerine Tango, Wisteria Wonder, Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, vellum, Whisper White, Naturals White
Accessories: Subtles candy dots, Subtles buttons, black marker
Tools: Elegant Butterfly punch, Circles framelits, scallop circle bigz die

Make sure you check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the Royal Court this week (I'm so grateful to be part of such an amazing group of talented crafters!)

Sweet & Simple Kindness

Hiya,

Just popping in quickly to share a card I put together for a couple of challenges: the Paper Players theme and Sweet Sunday Sketch...

I wanted to use one of the floral images I stamped out at a recent SU team training day using Gifts of Kindness and the baby wipe inkpad technique...

I loved how these flowers turned out with an 'inkpad' made with Coastal Cabana, Real Red and Crumb Cake inks - I have a few more I'm hoping to use soon!

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Gifts of Kindness, Regarding Dahlias
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Crumb Cake, Versamark
Paper: Fresh Prints dsp, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
Accessories: pearls, white embossing powder
Tools: 1 3/4" circle punch

Retro Sparkly Cupcakes

Hiya!

This week's ColourQ challenge is a bright and funky one...

I had LOTS of fun playing with this one - I decided to create some colourful cupcakes...

When I saw the Retro Sketches layout this week I knew I wanted to use it for this challenge - I love the circle shape coming from the side and I immediately thought of using framelits to create the circle frames. The cupcakes are from Another Great Year, stamped on Naturals White with Stazon then watercoloured with ink and an aqua painter. I then cut them out with my paper snips and stamped over the cases with different stamps and the coordinating ink. The final touch was adding some Dazzling Details to the icing!

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Another Great Year, Yippee Skippee
Ink: Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, Versamark
Paper: Quatrefancy dsp, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo, Naturals White, Whisper White
Accessories: Rhinestones, Dazzling Details, White embossing powder
Tools: Circle Framelits, banner die from Thinlits card collection

Make sure you check out what the rest of the Royal Court have created to inspire you this week!

Crushed Midnight Sea...

Hello!

I had some time to play last night so I combined a couple of challenges to come up with this...

I combined the Seize the Sketch and Colour Me challenges for this one...

I used one of the Crushed Curry die-cuts from the Tag a Bag accessory kit for the main image, masking off the edges with post-it notes and stamped the ship image inside with Midnight Muse ink. I layered that on a tag created with the Angled Tag Topper punch and added some linen thread underneath in random loops.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: The Open Sea, Blue Ribbon
Ink: Midnight Muse
Paper: Afternoon Picnic dsp, Crushed Curry, Midnight Muse, Very Vanilla, Tag a Bag accessory kit
Accessories: silver buttons. Midnight Muse ribbon, linen thread
Tools: Angled Tag Topper punch, 1 3/8" circle punch

You can find all the ingredients to make this card in my Stampin Up online store... just click on the link on the right to go shopping...

Another Great Birthday...

Hiya!

It's time for another fab ColourQ challenge and this week we've got a really versatile combo to play with...

I was determined not to use flowers again (lol) as I seem to always gravitate towards those kind of images. I wanted to create a guy's birthday card and so pulled out a few different stamp sets and dies and ended up with this...

I wanted to try a fun background technique I've seen around recently where you sponge the ink onto a portion of the stamp before stamping - I used the Dictionary background stamp and Tempting Turquoise ink then stamped over the top with Gorgeous Grunge and Encore gold ink. The film strip frame was die-cut with Choc Chip card the the sentiment (stamped on Naturals White with Choc Chip ink) was layered inside. I added some stars stamped with Pool Party (from Perfect Pennants) as well as a smaller one from one of the Thinlit die collections. The banner at the top was cut from Gold foil card and layered with a Tempting Turquoise die-cut arrow (again from a Thinlits collection) and a Neutrals button.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Dictionary, Another Great Year, Perfect Pennants, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Gold Encore
Paper:  Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party, Chocolate Chip, Gold foil, Whisper White, Naturals Ivory
Accessories: Neutrals button, gold sequins
Tools: Banners framelits, On Film Framelits, Thinlits card collections

Make sure you check out the rest of the design team's creations this week - I'm sure you'll be inspired!

Here's the recipe:

Pink Apothecary Birthday

Hiya!

This week's ColourQ challenge is a lovely, pretty combo...

I just had to something with flowers (again!) so I pulled out one of my favourites - Apothecary Art...

Ink: Stazon, Pear Pizzazz, Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette
Paper: Quatrefancy dsp, Venetian Romance dsp, Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White, Naturals Ivory, Silver Glimmer paper
Accessories: White button, silver baker's twine, white organza ribbon
