CPS Throwdown Blossoms...

Hi there,

I've had a bit of creative time today so I played along with this week's Colour Throwdown colours (which are gorgeous!!) as well as the CPS sketch.

I used some new mini catty goodies for this, including the Easter Blossoms stamp set and Spice Cake DSP. I used some retired Rose Red ribbon for the big bow and adde some pearls and lace for a big of extra vintage style. The DSP pieces were inked with Tea Stain to distress them a bit. The centre shapes are a combination of the circles #2 die and the Perfect Pennants die - love that combo!

SFYTT Enchantment...

Hi there,

I've been wanting to make something using this month's Sketch for You to Try and finally I managed to get some time over the weekend - yay! I combined the sketch with this week's Create with Connie & Mary colour challenge and came up with this...

I used the GORGEOUS new Sale-a-Bration papers called Everyday Enchantment as well as a hostess set from the main catalogue (stamped on watercolour paper and coloured with an aquabrush and inkpads). I added some glitter to the centre of the flowers for a bit of sparkle then some lace, ribbon and pearls as embellishments.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Simply Soft, Hopeful Thoughts
Ink: Stazon Black, Lucky Limeade, Peach Parfait, Calypso Coral
Paper: Everyday Enchantment dsp, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Watercolour,Very Vanilla
Accessories: Circles #2 die, Perfect Pennants die, Modern Label punch, peach parfait ribbon, chantilly lace trim, basics pearls, glitter

Fresh Aviary Birthday...

Hiya,

It's getting to be a bit of a habit posting on a Sundays... with nothing in between! Sorry I haven't posted more but study, work and other commitments mean at the moment I don't have a lot of free time to play. But yesterday I made myself take some time out to get creative so I could get some time to relax and take my mind off some pressing issues (this is one of the reasons I love creating things!). I combined the Freshly Made sketch from this week with the Colour Q challenge (just squeaking in this week) to come up with this:

I dug out my Aviary set - love these cute images - and put together something that mostly features Wisteria Wonder with splashes of the other colours. The flower was punched from Rich Razzleberry DSP using the Boho Blossoms punch then I scrunched the flowers and sanded them slightly, adding an Island Indigo brad through the middle. The sentiment is from Curly Cute set and I added a strip of Island Indigo ruffled ribbon underneath the banner strip for a bit of added interest and texture. I wanted to add something in the top right portion so I overstamped the dsp with a flourish stamp from Everything Eleanor using Wisteria Wonder ink.

Here's the recipe:
Stamps: Aviary, Curly Cute, Everything Eleanor
Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder
Paper: Wisteria Wonder & Rich Razzleberry dsp, Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White
Accessories: Boho Blossoms punch, Island Indigo brad, Island Indigo ribbon, corner rounder punch, rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to have a bit of 'me' time... hopefully will be able to share what I make with you soon...

Play Date anniversary...

Hiya,

I played around yesterday with the Play Date colour challenge this week:

I wouldn't have thought of putting a dark red with a purple but that's the thing about challenges - they push you out of your comfort zone and you sometimes end up with something really great that you otherwise wouldn't have thought of! Here's what I came up with:

I embossed the floral image (from You are Loved) on vellum using Cherry Cobler embossing powder then layered this over Cherry Cobler cardstock - love how this effect turned out! The heart image (from the same set) was stamped on Confetti Cream card with Concord Crush ink. I added a nice big bow with Very Vanilla satin ribbon and added a couple of swirls die-cut with the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlit die. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was embossed with gold EP on Very Vanilla card then punched with the Word Window punch and layered on a vanilla modern label shape. A gold brad in each corner finished things off.

I'm trying to decide whether to have a nap before we go out again but I think I've left it too late lol! Anyway, that's all for now...

Easter Patchwork...

Hi there,

I'm just popping in quickly to share a card I made with this week's Colour Q colours and the layout from Freshly Made Sketches...

I used one of the sets in our new mini catty called Easter Blossoms, stamped the egg in Pool Party Pear Pizzazz and Calypso Coral (2nd generation ink) and cut them out. I added some Crystal Effects to make them shiny (I sprinkled some dazzling diamonds glitter onto the middle one). The sentiment was embossed with Cherry Cobler embossing powder and I embossed the top portion of the panel with the dotty embossing folder. The background was done with different coloured dsps and the 1 1/4" square punch.

That's all for now... thanks for stopping by!
