Play Date anniversary...

I played around yesterday with the Play Date colour challenge this week:

I wouldn't have thought of putting a dark red with a purple but that's the thing about challenges - they push you out of your comfort zone and you sometimes end up with something really great that you otherwise wouldn't have thought of! Here's what I came up with:

I embossed the floral image (from You are Loved) on vellum using Cherry Cobler embossing powder then layered this over Cherry Cobler cardstock - love how this effect turned out! The heart image (from the same set) was stamped on Confetti Cream card with Concord Crush ink. I added a nice big bow with Very Vanilla satin ribbon and added a couple of swirls die-cut with the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlit die. The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes was embossed with gold EP on Very Vanilla card then punched with the Word Window punch and layered on a vanilla modern label shape. A gold brad in each corner finished things off.

I'm trying to decide whether to have a nap before we go out again but I think I've left it too late lol! Anyway, that's all for now...

  1. Gorgeous card Amy, I never thought of heat embossing on vellum that is definitely going on the next card I make! You could also enter your card into the Simply Stampin' Challenge, this weeks it's 'to DIE for' (using stampin' up! dies) your card would be perfect!

  2. Glad you stuck with the colors, because something marvelous turned up! This is gorgeous, and I love how you stamped on the vellum. Very elegant.

Thanks so much for playing with us at The Play Date Cafe this week. Hope to see you again soon!

  3. Your embossing is absolutely beautiful and perfect for that stamp. Great card. Thank you so much for playing along at The play Date Cafe.
